Acafellas is the third episode of the drama/comedy/musical TV series that hit the America and the world by storm. It was originally aired last September 16, 2009. The Glee Season 1 Episode 3: Acafellas records 6.642 million US viewers, the Acafellas episode receives mixed appraisal from critics. This is the episode where Josh Groban appeared as a guest. Acafellas was directed by John Scott and written Ryan Murphy.
On this episode Will form an all-male group which they called the Acafellas, to build back his confidence after Rachel questions his choreography skills during the glee club meeting. The group originally composed of Will, football coach Ken Tanaka, woodshop teacher Henri St. Pierre and Teri’s co-worker Howard Bamboo. However, after their first performance Henri and Howard drop out of the group and Will replaces them with glee club member Finn, and Puck. The glee ex-director Sandy Ryerson also joins the group having arranged for Josh Groban to be at their next performance. Josh Groban compliments their rendition of “I Wanna Sex You Up”, but he reveals that he only attended to ask Sandy to stop stalking him.
Meanwhile, Kurt is under pressure in his life which isn’t helped by Mercedes new found interest in finding a relationship. Later Kurt’s confesses to Mercedes that he is gay, and the two make up. In Will’s absence, the glee club hires a well-known choreographer Dakota Stanley, to help coach them to Nationals.
